How I Made $2000 using one Email.

I receive emails all the time from some of my favorites companies such as Express, Old Navy and others to name a few. Can you tell I like to shop? 🙂  You probably receive a lot of emails too if you are on any email list. What everyone is wondering is how do I get and convert email subscribers into paying customers?

Building your email list

First you will need email subscribers.  A fast way to get email subscribers is to attend tradeshows and expos and ask participants’ to sign up while at your booth.  Remember to add a disclaimer that you will not sell their information to a third party.

Another good way to get subscribers is using a giveaway in exchange for email addresses and other contact information. Sign up with mail chimp and create an opt-in form.  Please see for an example of the opt-in form for the free eBook.  Opt-in forms are a great way to grow your email list because they continue to generate email subscriber after you take time to set it up.  Try, posting a signup form on your homepage, blog, Facebook page, and wherever else your customers and fans are already active.

Email Subject Line

Create an attention grabbing email subject line.  Many people scan through their emails and delete anything that doesn’t catch their eye.  Your email will have a better chance of getting opened if the subject line pique curiosity, uses power words, and/ or promises something good.

Write engaging emails

People are opening your emails. Now what? How do you keep their attention? Make sure your emails are not too sales focus.  If sales focus make it about one product, services, or event.   Keep emails short and ask questions are two ways to write engaging emails.  The most important aspect to writing engaging emails is to add personality.  People like doing business with people they like.


I must say that I have to work on this one.  Consistency is key to making money using email marketing.  Try to send emails out at least two or three times a month.  This will make your company stay at the top of your potential clients’ minds.
